The PETZL RIG® Self-Braking Descender is engineered for professionals performing rope access and work-at-height operations. Its compact design allows efficient rope handling while maintaining high levels of control and safety during descent and positioning.

The device features an AUTO-LOCK braking system, which automatically locks the rope when the user releases the handle, enabling safe positioning at a workstation without tying off the device. The ergonomic handle provides precise control of descent, with two possible braking configurations that adapt to the working situation. A safety gate on the side plate allows the rope to be installed while the device remains connected to the harness, simplifying passage of intermediate anchors and reducing the risk of dropping the device.

A stainless steel wear plate reinforces the rope friction zone, increasing durability during intensive professional use. Once the device is locked, users can easily take up slack rope for short ascents without manipulating the handle. The RIG descender is widely used in rope access work, rescue operations, and industrial maintenance environments where reliable descent control is essential.
